Using the compression molding properties of rubber, angled webs are created around a switch center. At the depression point, the webbing deforms to produce a tactile response. If the pressure is released from the switch, the webbing returns to the resting position. To make an electronic switch, a conductive pill is positioned below the switch, and contracts onto a printed circuit board (PCB) when the web is depressed.
Our trained engineers are able to vary that palpable response and key travel, by changing the design of the webbing and the hardness of the silicone material. This allows our technical team to create unusual shapes and sizes that will still perform to our high standards.
