El Monte Students Honored For Green Innovations

EL MONTE, Calif., May 7, 2011—Two students were honored Saturday for their innovation and environmentalism and were awarded college scholarships from the local manufacturer Miller Dial.
Each student will receive $2,500, and both will attend the University of California, Berkeley in the fall. The scholarship was created by the El Monte-based Miller Dial to award student innovation in science. The company has been in El Monte since 1937. The awards were presented by Rep. Judy Chu, D-El Monte, and Assemblyman Mike Eng, D-Alhambra. From Daily Breeze.
